From Survivor To Warrior, LT Pridgen Joins The Take A Stand Movement As A Panelist For the Upcoming Brunch

“When child sexual abuse decreases in a community, there is a measurable decrease in teenage pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, and many other societal ills.” – LT Pridgen

LT Pridgen is an author, advocate, motivational speaker and an authorized Stewards of Children Facilitator. She holds a B.S. degree from Park University and an MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Having suffered through the horrors of sexual abuse from the tender age of five until the age of thirteen, LT Pridgen has recently penned and published her first book, ‘Treading Water: From Survivor to Warrior’. Treading Water is the compelling memoir in which she shares in vivid detail her journey from the shame and suffering of victimization to the strength and courage of a warrior.

Believing that it is her life’s purpose to “BE A VOICE” for those who have yet to find their voice, LT Pridgen has founded Stomp Out the Silence (S.O.S.), a non-profit organization’s whose mission is to END Child Sex Abuse by increasing public awareness and influencing public policy & legislation through seminars, training, social media campaigns, speaking engagements, advocacy, public presence and printed material. The goal of the organization is to create a movement that reduces the number of child sexual abuse victims “From ONE Less to NO More.”

Stomp Out the Silence partners with Darkness to Light to offer its Stewards of Children prevention training program. Stewards of Children is the only evidence-informed child sexual abuse prevention, recognition, and intervention training available nationally. It has been shown that when 5% of a community becomes educated in prevention, the cultural and social norms of the community shift leading to a decrease in the number of child sex abuse victims and an increase in early intervention when abuse occurs. When child sexual abuse decreases in a community, there is a measurable decrease in teenage pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, and many other societal ills.

Nelson Mandela once said, “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” LT holds this quote dear to her heart and uses it to encourage others in the community to help carry the torch and light the way for a safer and happier world for our children. Every child deserves a happy childhood and every adult deserves a life free from the
trauma of child sexual abuse!
