Critical Care And Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse And Educator, Dr. Dora Eyong, Takes A Stand!

“Take A Stand: The Future of Healthcare Begins With You”

The ‘Take A Stand” campaign is a platform that brings together community members, leaders and legislators to discuss common unspoken issues affecting our communities and come up with possible solutions.

In May, we will particularly address how these issues are affecting the Healthcare Industry while offering self-help tools, preventive mechanisms and possible solutions. We are bringing together healthcare leaders, innovators and healthcare professionals to address Workplace Violence/Discrimination, Mental Health Issues, Diversity and Inclusion in the healthcare industry and the impact of Long Work Hours on staff and quality of care. 

Dr. Dora Eyong has over 20 years of nursing experience and is currently a nursing instructor at Delaware Technical Community College. Her background is in Critical Care and in Psychiatric Mental Health nursing. She has also been a nurse at the Annual Diabetes Camp at University of Delaware since 2009. She is fluent in English, French and Russian. Dora earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Delaware State University, her Masters Degree in Nursing from Wesley College and her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Delaware State University.

Her publications include: The Effects of Stress Level and Emotional Intelligence on Academic Achievement of Nursing Students in the DNA Reporter. She also co-authored the publication Exploring Emotional Intelligence and Authentic Leadership in Relation to Academic Achievement Among Nursing Students in the International Journal of Arts and Sciences. She has mentored new faculty and has presented at conferences. Conference presentations include: Presenting at Delaware State University School of Graduate Studies and Research Fifth Annual Graduate Research Symposium. Topic: The Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Authentic Leadership on Academic Achievement for Community College Nursing Students. Her doctoral research focused on investigating the Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Authentic Leadership on Academic Achievement for Community College Nursing Students. She is a Certified Psychiatric Nurse and a member of the Delaware Nurses Association,  the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association
